  13. Target Development Announces Release 4.0 of ReportPalette for EOF.

  15. LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA - April 17, 1996.  Target Development
  16. announces the 4.0 release of ReportPalette for the Enterprise Objects
  17. Framework.  The ReportPalette is a collection of objects that allow
  18. you to easily add custom report writing features into your EOF
  19. applications.  Unlike traditional report writers that directly
  20. access database tables, the ReportPalette reports on NSDictionary
  21. values from your Enterprise Objects.  EOControllers can be used to
  22. define the hierarchy of the report, and Interface Builder serves
  23. as the medium for page layout.  Using the ReportPalette, keys of
  24. your EO's can be mapped directly to columns or free-form text fields
  25. on the report page.  Images and formatted rich text with imbedded
  26. keys can also be added graphically.  This WYSIWYG reporting is
  27. capable of reproducing custom forms, generating mailing labels and
  28. form letters, and producing on-the-fly hierarchical column-based
  29. and free-form reports.

  33. - Custom Page Sequences; for report cover and trailer pages
  34. - Custom page backgrounds; for page header and footer information
  35. - Automatic Page Layout control at runtime
  36. - Multi-level group headers and footers, including totals

  38. - Full support for the Foundation classes, including NSString,
  39.   NSNumber, NSCalendarDate, NSData for RTF(D), and NXImage objects.

  42. The ReportPalette ships with several demo applications and NIBs,
  43. along with install scripts and EOModels for Sybase, Oracle, Informix,
  44. and QuickBase.  The example NIBs can be loaded and run using IB's
  45. 'Test Interface' mode!  That's how easy it is!  Example NIBs include
  46. a column based report, form letters, mailing labels, a free-form
  47. report, and a custom healthcare form.

  49. A date licensed version of the palette is available via ftp or
  50. directly from Target Development.   The product is licensed through
  51. May 15 of 1996.  The product includes the Interface Builder palette,
  52. header files, libraries, complete technical documentation, and
  53. various demo applications and NIBS.  The palette retails for $895.00
  54. per developer seat.  No runtime fees apply.  Educational, site, and
  55. source licenses are also available. An OpenStep version of this
  56. product is due to release in beta during Q2 of 1996.
